Not What You Might Expect �Get the FACTS!
The following are the assumptions used to calculate the �Life-Cycle� savings of using commercial wallcovering rather than painting over a nine to twelve year period.
Assumptions
- Building wall surfaces will be redecorated every 9-12 years.
- Wall surfaces painted every three years.�One coat of primer and two coats of latex paint.
- Labor and material rates are based on survey data from contractors located throughout the US.
- The average costs for labor and material were $.55 for painting and $.80 for wallcovering (exclusive of vinyl wallcovering).
- The costs for material and labor were projected to increase 1.5% per year.
- Vinyl wallcovering costs were projected at $0.37 for Type I and $0.67 for Type II.
- Information is based on survey results only. Actual savings may vary based on actual contractor rates.
